April 2016 – December 2017
As a core member of the web team I helped build, release, and maintain the new Credit One Bank website. I joined the team April 2016, at that time the entire website was being rebuilt from the ground up: visitor page, registration, user login site, marketing content, front-end tech stack, the whole nine yards. C1B was my introduction to the corporate world and provided me with invaluable experiences into the world of banking, professional grade software engineering, and corporate business practices.
What I did
Officially, I was a Business Systems Engineer II (came in as a level I and after my first year I was promoted to level II, mid-level). That title is just a blanket word, trust me. In reality I was a full-stack web developer with secondary responsibilities including:
- Maintain non-web related software systems
- Database development
- 24/7 on-call systems support and troubleshooting
- Provide support and monitoring during software release windows
- Maintained internal test environments
- Project coordination with outsourced developers and project stakeholders
- Paperwork,,, lots and lots of paperwork
Tech I worked with: Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL, .NET (WebAPI, MVC), IIS, JavaScript (AngularJS), HTML, CSS (Foundation)
